More and more people are calling on The Salvation Army for help because of rising food, electricity and petrol prices. Many of our clients are facing tremendous hardship and struggle even to put food on the table. And it’s often the children who suffer the most when household budgets don’t stretch far enough.
The Food Bank is a multi-purpose place. As we get to know clients we find out there are other issues in their lives to resolve. Hence we offer services such as budget advice, counselling, prayer, mentoring and life skills programmes. We are then able to offer them assistance in any of these areas if they are interested. More importantly, we have a God-given opportunity to also feed their souls with hope and purpose through the gospel, showing them that their past doesn’t have to be their future. God has a new life for those in need and their families.
DONATIONS: When you donate money or food to a Salvation Army food bank you’re helping to provide one of life’s most basic necessities to those who need it most. Please contact us to arrange a donation, or feel free to drop it off to us at the church.
