Kingdom Conference was birthed out of a desire to bring a conference where we can come together as family and pursue more of God. This would be a time of refreshment and encounter.
We know that at times ministry can be like going through the desert and we want to continue to make this conference a time where we get to come together and spur each other on and see God move and speak to us all.
For Jess and I we have seen this conference as a sort of family reunion, in that we know there is a sound that this conference brings that is familiar to lot of people and we see this time as an opportunity to gather and share the stories that have taken place for us over the past year. To add to the conference, this year we will have a cafe set up so that people can talk during the break times and have a comfortable space to do this. we will also make sure there is a live feed in that room so that if you are in the middle of a conversation you can continue it without missing out on anything going on in the room next door.
Also this year the organising team has decided that it would be a great idea to have a Leaders Advance on the Friday during the day. This would be a time for officers and leaders (anyone) to come and get some awesome additional teaching/Leadership training.
Our prayer is that we would make this a priority and a must be at event for this year. We will not want to miss what God is going to do.
More Details will come in the coming weeks.

How do we get through when we witness tragedy? In Christchurch, we have just witnessed a senseless and horrific mass shooting. This is unheard of in our neck of the woods, and as such many people are understandably shaken by it. Whatever kind of tragedy or trauma we face, here are a few thoughts that may help from Richard Black, a counsellor based in Christchurch.

What is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of interactive sessions exploring the basics of the Christian faith.
Each session looks at a different question, and is assigned to create conversation. No two Alphas look the same – they run in coffee shops, churches, bars, prisons, universities, schools and homes. There’s no pressure, no follow-up and no charge; it’s just an open, informal, and honest space to explore and discuss life’s big questions together.
What’s Involved?
Food – Whether it’s a group of friends gathered around a kitchen table, or a quick catch up over coffee and cake, food has a way of bringing people together. It’s no different at Alpha. Most sessions start with food, because it’s a great way to build community and get to know each other.
Talk – The talks are designed to be engaging and inspire conversation. Usually around 30 minutes long, they explore the big issues around faith and unpack the basics of Christianity, addressing questions like “Who is Jesus?”, “Why and how do I pray?” and “How does God guide us?”
Discussion – Probably the most important part of any Alpha: the chance to share thoughts and ideas about the talk without being corrected or judged. There’s no obligation to say anything; it’s an opportunity to hear from others and contribute your own perspective.
Greetings Friends……We have a desperate need for more people to collect for The Salvation Army’s Annual Appeal. The money raised is critical to The Army’s Community Ministries programmes which features so strongly in our own corps operations. We really need the help of everyone who regards Hutt City Corps as their spiritual home. For those who have already put their names down for collecting I wish to say a very big thank you.
Please study the attached times and email me back on: [email protected].
The oversighting person will then come back to you to confirm.
The dates are starting Monday 30 April until Saturday 5 May.
